Celebrating March is Reading Month,Early Literacy is important to ensure children are ready for kindergarten. Building the love of reading and the excitement for books is the first step to learning to read. St. Clair County RESA and the Great Start Collaborative are focusing on early literacy through Imagination Library, Talking is Teaching campaign, StoryWalks and other literacy initiatives.
Speaker Bio:
Riley Alley is the Early Childhood Coordinator for St. Clair County RESA. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies from Central Michigan University. Riley has spent the last 18 years working in the Early Childhood field and the last 14 years living in it as a mother of 4.

Speaker Bio: With 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rachel LaForge is passionate about creating seamless and memorable events. For the past two and a half years, she has served as an Event Coordinator at the Blue Water Convention Center, where she has successfully planned and executed a diverse range of events. Outside of work, Rachel stays active and motivated through her dedication to fitness. A proud Port Huron local, she loves being part of the community and showcasing all it has to offer.
