Tickets purchased after 12pm on Monday January 10th will be a higher cost due to the venue needing to plan ahead.

Speaker bio: 

Nikki Thompson Frazier considers herself a mompreneur. Nearly six years ago, she opened Sweet Encounter Bakery, an online and wholesale bakery. The bakery specializes in gluten free and allergy friendly desserts because both her daughters have food allergies.

Given the pandemic, Nikki decided pivoted and decided to start Sweet Encounter Kids Culinary Academy in Dec. 2020. SE Kids offers two things: 1. a monthly kids’ subscription box cooking club mailed right to your door and 2. hands-on public and private culinary classes for kids.

In May 2021, Nikki won the Lansing Built to Last Business Competition to further her new business. She is set to open a storefront in downtown Lansing this fall. However, you can subscribe to her monthly subscription box kids cooking club today or sign up for classes at www.sweetencounterkids.com.

Nikki has a BA in Journalism from Indiana University and MS Communications from Ball State University. She relocated to Michigan in 2015 after her husband, Dr. Terrence Frazier accepted the position at Michigan State University. They have two daughters Melia, 10, and Madison 7; and guardianship of their sister Shona, 39, who has Down Syndrome. They live in Lansing.
