Why are women still under-represented in senior leadership positions? Why do we have to navigate the political landscapes of our organizations differently from our male counterparts? And WHEN will this change?! We'll delve into the socio-cultural dynamics, structural barriers, and evolving landscapes that shape women's pathways to leadership roles, and "fill our toolboxes" with strategies to support and empower women at all stages of their careers.
Speaker Bio:
With more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Jody Skonieczny specializes in bringing people and resources together for the greater good. Jody has worked in nonprofit organizations of all sizes, from her local chamber of commerce to national nonprofits and even the Detroit Red Wings’ youth hockey program.
Jody holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Oakland University, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration on American Culture from the University of Michigan – Flint and will receive her Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies at Louisiana State University this December. She has done deep-dives in research on the impact of gender on leadership and mentoring through servant leadership.
Jody lives in China Township, just a few miles from where she grew up. She and her high school sweetheart, Andy, have been married for more than 25 years and have two adult children and one very spoiled dog and bossy cat.
